Ed Smith, Retired Police Commander
Monterey is a city in transition. We face many serious challenges, but we also have great opportunities. I seek a seat on the City Council to lead Monterey in the right direction and make positive changes.
My wife Sharron of 41 years and I have lived in Monterey for 34 years. Monterey is more than our home and a place to work. We’ve raised our two children here. I love our great city with the historical treasures and coastal beauty, which is important to us all. I will work to preserve them and our hometown feel.
My 34-year police career includes 26 years in Monterey, retiring as a division commander. I hold a Master's in Public Administration from Golden Gate University and a California Teaching Credential. I co-own "On Base Leadership Training", where we provide professional development, leadership and supervision training. I previously owned and operated a successful Monterey retail business.
As your Council member I will be fiscally responsible and forward thinking. We need a renewed focus on our neighborhoods, city streets and improving downtown. Together, let’s make Monterey even better. For a safe and fiscally sound future, on November 4th I humbly ask for your vote.
